"Appalling" Quotation Marks

Not as appalling as the actual "events" "reported" in this "news" story. But still, what other word than "terrorist" would fit?

Series of 'Terrorist' Bombings in India Kill at Least 20, Injure Dozens

A series of "terrorist" bombings rocked a packed railway station and crowded Hindu temple Tuesday in the holy city of Varanasi, officials said, killing at least 20 people and injuring dozens in an attack that raised fears of communal violence.
What has happened to the press (or at least the Associated Press) that it can't report on the world without adding spin? Okay, if as a semi-cohesive entity the writers and editors decide that politicians are misusing the words "terrorism" and "terrorist", use quotes to indicate that the the word choice might be subjective, and might not be supported by consensus.

But you know, I bet in the bombings in India, "innocent" "bystanders" were "terrorized" and "brutalized", and you know, I'd also bet every single survivor and their friends, neighbors, and loved ones would be "pissed off" to see the "carnage" "trivialized" like that.

I know I am, and you can quote me.
